Vehicle NVH and railway noise measurements often present the problem of fixing the microphone in the engine compartment, or on the chassis or bogie. These applications require robust mounting that is easy to attach, and remove. MA241 was developed with these special requirements in mind, and is derived from accelerometer mounts to reduce installation and removal time. It offers improved reliability, owing to the patent-pending shockproof structure which prevents microphone thread loosening under severe conditions.

MA241 is an ICCP preamplifier which fits IEC 61094 1/2” prepolarized microphones. Mounting a microphone on the MA241 is suited for measuring in a reverberant field, such as in an engine compartment. In such applications, the mounting has minimal effect on the sound field.
